About
Comprising a total of 320 acres of prime tailored pastures, across two farms in Mangatāwhiri and one in Ōhaupō, Jamieson Park is home to a band of over 50 broodmares.
Having long admired New Zealand's pristine thoroughbred studs,
Jamieson Park principal James Chapman set out to develop his own stud in 2009. With the foresight of respected horseman Sam Munro, he converted 180 acres of maize (pictured below left) into the perfect setting to breed and raise high-quality thoroughbreds that Jamieson Park is today (pictured below right).
320 acres across three farms.
It started with our Mangatāwhiri farm, near Mercer, just 25 minutes South of the New Zealand Bloodstock Complex at Karaka.
We have since added a further farm of prime land just down the road from the original farm, and the former Dormello Stud on the outskirts of Hamilton - a home away from home for our mares visiting Waikato-based stallions including our own, Mr Mozart.
Our goal across the three farms is to provide the perfect environment to develop high-quality thoroughbreds, capable of competing against the world's best.
At Jamieson Park, we're committed to the welfare of our horses. Learn more about equine welfare in the thoroughbred breeding industry here.
